Walsh University Appoints Ronald J. Manse Director of Economic Alliances

Walsh University has announced the appointment of Ronald J.Manse as Director of Economic Alliances.

In this new position, Ron will act as a key liaison between prospective stakeholders and Walsh University. He will be responsible for the vision, articulation and education of the external community concerning the economic and social impact of Walsh University on the surrounding region. As Director of Economic Alliances, Ron will cultivate giving in all forms by representing Walsh University as a place wherein moral, spiritual, personal, and philanthropic goals can be achieved through involvement.

Ronald J. Manse, CPA, joined Bruner-Cox LLP in 1997. He served as managing partner from January 2003 until December 2010. Before joining Bruner-Cox LLP, Ron was a tax partner at Ernst & Young. He has more than 40 years of experience in taxation and business consulting. His experience includes tax exempt tax planning, internal tax strategies and individual and corporate tax planning. Ron was the director for the firm's Health Care Services Group.

Ron earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Walsh University.

Ron Manse is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ron was named the 1997 Outstanding Alumnus of Walsh University. He was also the recipient of the 1997 Stark County Small Business Advocate of the Year award. Just recently, he was honored by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce with the 2012 Community Salute Award of Merit for his over 35 years of volunteer efforts in the Canton/Stark County region.

Currently, Ron serves as chairman for the North Canton Medical Foundation board of directors, he's on the Jackson YMCA board of directors, and he's chairman on the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award Committee. Ron serves on the Perry Helping Perry board of directors and is on the Stark County Oversite Committee.

Ron is the current treasurer and past chairman of Canton Tomorrow. He is a board member and current chairman for the Sisters of Charity Foundation Distribution Committee, treasurer for DCLB, Inc. and is a current director of the Perry Township Rotary Club. In addition, he is the creator and chairman of the Annual Perry Rotary Turkey Trot. Recently, Ron was appointed to the Stark County Capital Campaign Committee. Ron participates in several fundraising drives for the community including the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges, Jackson Township YMCA Building Fund, Arts in Stark Fund Drive, Walsh University and Catholic High Schools in Stark County.

He is past president and director of the Akron/Canton Chapter of the OSCPA, past chairman of the OSCPA Akron/Canton Estate Planning Committee and past member of the OSCPA Advanced Federal Tax Symposium Committee. Ron is also past president of the Perry Township Rotary Club and two-term past president of both the Downtown Canton Association and the Canton Club. He is also the past chairman of the Planned Giving Council of Walsh University.
