North Canton, Ohio - Walsh University opens the 2004-2005 academic year by welcoming some new as well as familiar faces to its campuses. Joining the ranks of the university's full-time faculty are Dr. Marietta Daulton, Dr. James Hamburg, Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock, Dr. Michael Dunphy, Sheryl Holt and Dr. Holly Hartwig Moorhead.

Dr. Daulton joins Walsh's Division of Education as Professor of Graduate Education. Daulton comes from Malone College where she served as the Dean of the Graduate School of Education and as an Associate Professor. She was also an Assistant Professor at Morehead State University in Kentucky (1994-1997) and at Carson-Newman College in Tennessee (1985-1994).  

Dr. Daulton attained her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Kentucky in 1987. She received her M.S. in Education from the University of Kentucky and her B.S. from Morehead State University.

Dr. James Hamburg joins the Division of Business and Economics as an Assistant Professor. He received his Doctorate from Kent State University in 1996 and his M.B.A. from Baldwin Wallace in 1985. He also holds a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron (1983). He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.   

Since 1994, Hamburg has been an adjunct professor at the graduate and undergraduate level at Ashland College of Business and Economics, the Department of Management and Science and the Department of Science and Engineering Technology at Akron University and in the Kent State University Department of Management. During this same time, he continued to work in the private sector for various firms in a variety of roles. He was a Senior Business Consultant with Strategic Business and Engineering Consultants, International Project Engineer for Hubble/Ohio Brass and Manager of Electrical and Instrumentation Design for C.W. Watson Associates. Hamburg also enjoyed a long career with the Michelin Tire Corporation and is a United States Air Force veteran.

Joining the Division of Mathematics and Sciences are Walsh alums Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock and former professor of chemistry at Walsh Dr. Michael Dunphy.

Dr. Vesco-Mock is a 1982 Walsh graduate with a B.S. in Biology. She attained a Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine from Ohio State in 1990 and has taught as an adjunct faculty member at various institutions in Northeast Ohio including Kent State University, Cuyahoga Community College, Stark State College of Technology and the Ohio College of Masotherapy. From 1990 to 2004, she has worked in various settings as a Veterinarian and Operations Manager including the Ohio State University STAT Vet Emergency Services and the Humane Society of Greater Akron.

Dr. Dunphy returns to Walsh after taking time off to tour the country as a motivational speaker. He was a full-time faculty member at Walsh from 1985 to 2000 and has provided consulting services to local hospitals and businesses over the years. He received his B.A. in Chemistry from Walsh in 1979 and completed his M.S. in Chemistry at Youngstown State University. In 1990, he attained his Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Akron.

Sheryl Holt joins the Division of Physical Therapy as a Clinical Professor. Holt brings 25 years of clinical physical therapy experience with her to Walsh, much of which is in the area of pediatric physical therapy. She has worked as a consultant to Akron Children's and Columbus Children's Hospitals and as a Physical Therapy Consultant and Certified Special Educator for various school systems in Ohio including Dublin City, Akron Public and Hudson local schools. Most recently, Holt directed the Canton City Schools P.T. efforts to educate parents, teachers and peers on the integrated model advanced by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.       

Holt received her B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1978 from Georgia State University and her M.A. in 1999 from the Ohio State University with majors in Neuropsychology and Pediatric Physical Therapy. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association as an assembly delegate, a researcher and a promoter. 

Walsh's Counseling and Human Development Program welcomes its newest Clinical Assistant Professor, Holly Hartwig Moorhead. In 1997, she received her B.A. in Art Communications, Sociology and Studio Art. She attained her M.S. in Counseling (2001) and Doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education (2003) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a licensed Professional Counselor in both Ohio and North Carolina. From 2001 to 2003, she worked as a clinical counselor in Greensboro before relocating to Ohio. For the past year she has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Walsh.
