Alumni Honors & Awards
Walsh University is proud of the accomplishments and contributions of its more than 12,000 alumni across the globe. Each year the Alumni Association recognizes the achievements of individual alums through the following awards, which are given during Homecoming Weekend.
Outstanding Achievement Award
The Outstanding Achievement Award honors alumni for their achievements, leadership and contributions to their professions, their communities and their alma mater. Nominees are kept on file and reviewed annually for five years. A maximum of two awards are given annually.
Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service award was established in 1994 to recognize alumni who have provided exemplary service to the Alumni Association. The Walsh University Alumni Association Board of Trustees nominates and selects a maximum of three individuals to receive this award each year. The criteria for selection is:
The individual shall have participated and provided exemplary service to the Walsh University Alumni Association and one or more of its activities. The individual shall have participated in the Walsh Annual Fund Campaign as a contributor or volunteer. The individual shall have graduated from Walsh University or be attending Walsh at the time of the nomination. The individual shall also provide other community organizations with volunteer support. The individual shall be of good moral character and represent the Walsh community well. Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement award was established in 2004 to recognize individuals who have given a lifetime of service to Walsh and to its alumni. We look for individuals who through their vision, attitude, and work have demonstrated a commitment to graduates of Walsh University that has spanned a career.
Wall of Fame
The Walsh University Wall of Fame was established in 1982 to honor and recognize the men and women who have exhibited excellence to the varsity athletic programs at Walsh University. The criteria for this award are listed below.
Athlete Must have graduated at least seven years prior to selection. Participated in an intercollegiate program as a junior or a senior. Made All-Conference or All-District, or received some level of national recognition. Been an outstanding athletic representative of Walsh University and the community. Coach
This Wall of Fame Award honors an individual whose positive impact has enriched the lives of his/her student-athletes, fellow coaches, and the Walsh community. To qualify for induction into the Wall of Fame in the category of coach the individual must have exemplified the philosophies of Walsh by upholding its ideals and having served in the best interest of the Athletic Department.
To qualify for induction into the Wall of Fame in the category of meritorious service the individual must have, over a period of years, exhibited unparalleled dedication, loyalty, and commitment to Walsh and the Walsh community.
Nominations for the Wall of Fame should be sent Jim Clark, Director of Sports Information, email@example.com. Please include the athlete's name and sport and a brief description of why you feel they should be considered for the award. This award is given at the Wall of Fame Banquet held the Friday evening during Homecoming Weekend and the award winners are also announced during half-time at the Football game the following day.
