What is the Cavalier Safeguard Initiative (CSI) 2.0?

Cavalier Safeguard Initiative logoThe Cavalier Safeguard Initiative (CSI) 2.0 is a campus-wide, cross-enterprise grant project at Walsh University funded by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) through the U.S. Department of Justice. The project uses a comprehensive approach to improving both the prevention of and response to dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking at the university.

In September 2021, Walsh was awarded by OVW a second round of competitive federal grant funding to expand its coordinated efforts to address sexual and relationship violence that was started during its first OVW Campus Program award (2017-2021).

The five primary focus areas of CSI 2.0 include:

  • Walsh University’s Coordinated Community Response Team
  • Comprehensive Prevention
  • Title IX & Student Conduct
  • Law Enforcement
