Eric M. Belden has served as Walsh University’s Vice President for Advancement since joining the University in 2012.

As Vice President for Advancement, Belden is responsible for the organization and implementation of the University’s fundraising, alumni and external relations programs, major gifts campaign, annual giving, and corporate and foundation relations. Among his many accomplishments, Belden successfully led Walsh’s largest capital campaign in University history, the We Believe Campaign, which surpassed all goals at the conclusion of five-year campaign. Over the past eight years, the Office of Advancement has exceeded all prior fundraising levels by raising nearly $55M.

Belden joined Walsh from Pathway Caring for Children where he served as the organization’s Executive Director since 2009. As Executive Director, Belden was responsible for the overall administration and growth of the organization with a focus on establishing/expanding relationships with referral agencies and the funding community. Prior to his position at Pathway Caring for Children, Belden served as Sponsorship Manager for Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce from 2003 to 2009. He was also a founding member in the development and launch of ystark! Young Professionals Engaged in Stark County. From 2000 to 2003, Belden served as Ombudsman for the Stark County Department of Jobs and Family Services.

Belden serves on the boards of Aultman Foundation and at CommQuest, where he most recently served as the Board President. He was a member of the 15th Class of Leadership Stark County and was honored as a Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce ystark! Twenty under 40 Award Recipient in 2009.

He formerly served on the boards and councils of several community organizations including, an Executive Committee member of the Alliance of Summit County Child Caring Providers, a Council Member of Carroll County Family & Children First Council, Board Member of First Tee of Canton, the J. Babe Stern Center, United Way of Greater Stark County-Vision Council, ystark!, Holy Cross Academy and the Players Guild of Canton.

Mr. Belden earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University.
