Ohio Educator Performance Reports
Ohio recognizes that high-quality teachers and principals are developed through high-quality educator preparation programs. To improve the quality of preparation programs in Ohio, H.B. 1 of the 128th General Assembly directed the Chancellor of the Board of Regents to develop a system for evaluating Ohio's educator preparation programs and holding institutions of higher education accountable for their graduates' success. H.B. 290 of the 128th General Assembly provided for the sharing of data between the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Department of Education to link the performance of educators to the institutions that prepared them.
The Educator Preparation Performance (EPP) Reports, which include performance data on the metrics identified for teacher and principal preparation programs, provide valuable information to a variety of audiences regarding available educator preparation programs in Ohio.
Ohio Assessment of Educators Data (OAE): 2021–22
OAE Tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the licensure process required by the state of Ohio. The test measure teacher candidates' knowledge and skills. Specifically, the OAE assessment series measure subject-specific content knowledge, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills that a beginning teacher needs. Pass rates are reported by OAE for tests with 10 takers or more. The scores below are for initial licensure, endorsement and school counseling for 2021–22.
