The Gilchrist Brothers

photo of Michael and Brian Gilchrist

Family, classmates and alumni of Walsh University have created The Michael and Brian Gilchrist Memorial Scholarship as a way to honor brothers Michael and Brian Gilchrist and the good work that they did on campus and in their lives. The sons of Jacqueline and the late Michael E. Gilchrist, the brothers were baptized at St. Dominic Catholic Church, and later attended St. Catherine, St. Charles (1982–83) and Walsh University (1986–87). The Gilchrist brothers were active in sports such as track, tennis, golf, baseball and football. They are perhaps best remembered for their outstanding performance on the basketball court as well as their leadership at the Walsh campus in North Canton, Ohio as founding members of the Ebony Eyes Club, now known as the Black Student Union.

Sadly, we lost both brothers too soon. Proceeds from the annual golf outing will help to endow an annual scholarship given to a deserving Walsh student in need for generations to come.
