Graphic design is the process of creating visual solutions for communication. Graphic designers use art and technology to design and visually communicate a message to a targeted audience. Walsh University's Graphic Design program works to prepare students to pursue careers in visual communication design professions. Students learn the current technology used in design and develop creative problem solving abilities for real-world projects. Upon graduation, students will have completed a design portfolio.
Majors: Graphic Design, Marketing
At Walsh I have never felt limited in what I can do and how I can be involved. I am a member of the Blouin Global Scholars program, and my cohort is studying Education, Equity, and Opportunity. I figured that since I was going to be studying Education, which I wasn’t exposed to as much in my Graphic Design and Marketing classes, Education Club would be an awesome opportunity to learn more. After my first year in the club, having fun with the different activities and events we put on, I decided to get more involved as the club Treasurer. Even though I am not an Education major or going to become a professional teacher, every day we teach other people throughout our experiences in the world. I can already see how it is going to positively impact my future workplace and peers.
The graphic design curriculum at Walsh is a pre-professional program that works to prepare our students to pursue careers in visual communication design professions.
In addition, students have the option to enroll in Walsh's new 4+1 Program for non-business majors who would like to supplement their bachelor's degree with an MBA. Through the program, students simultaneously earn undergraduate and graduate credit for Walsh's MBA Prep Series courses, saving both time and money as students pursue their advanced degree.
