Inauguration of the Seventh President, Dr. Tim Collins

Postponed to November 17, 2020

As the ongoing evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to force the cancellation of time-honored traditions on campus such as Commencement and Baccalaureate Ceremonies, we are announcing that the Inauguration Celebration of Walsh University’s seventh president, Dr. Tim Collins, planned for August 25-26, 2020, has now been postponed to November 17, 2020, as a smaller installation ceremony, with fewer distinguished guests on our campus. The installation will also be streamed live online for all to join in.

November 17 has very significant meaning for Walsh University. It is the day the university opened (after delayed construction) nearly 60 years ago and welcomed the first class of 67 gentleman students. Today, it is a day that we celebrate our heritage and the legacy of our Founders, the Brothers of Christian Instruction. Like so many members of our extended community, we were looking forward to a multi-day celebration that would kick-start the year, however celebrating the formal installation of our seventh president on our 60th birthday has a very special meaning as well.

Additional event information will be shared as the date approaches.

We look forward to celebrating this important milestone and inspiring a new chapter in the history of Walsh University.
