We are delighted that you have chosen to attend Walsh University! The International Orientation program is designed to welcome our international students to the Walsh Community. Our goal is to help make your transition to campus as smooth and successful as possible. 

During International Student Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other new international and American students, partake in fun and interactive off-campus trips, and connect to your International Student Ambassador. Most importantly, you will learn important information on:

  • Campus support and resources,
  • Immigration issues and regulations,
  • Maintaining your immigration status,
  • Health insurance, and
  • Safety

Participation Requirements
International Student Orientation is required for students who:

  • Live outside of the United States, or
  • Live in the United States on an F-1 Student Visa 

*SPECIAL NOTE
*Canadian Students: While we certainly appreciate your familiarity with the American culture, you are required to attend International Student Orientation.
*Students who are U.S. citizens educated abroad may also participate in International Student Orientation.

Arriving to Campus

As a reminder, international students are not permitted to arrive more than 30 days before the start date on your I-20. Per CDC guidelines, it is recommended that you arrive 14 days before the start of classes. 

Important Reminders:

As a reminder, Walsh will be following CDC guidelines and directing that students returning to the United States from abroad complete the following: 

  1. Quarantine at home 14 days prior to your travel departure date.  During this time, eliminate any high risk behaviors that may lead to exposure to the virus. 
  2. All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. Citizens, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board a flight to the United States. FAQ
  3. During travel, take extra precautions and Know How to Protect Yourself and Others.
  4. Upon arrival, you will need to get tested* within 3-5 days of your arrival and remain quarantined until you receive a negative test result and have been cleared by the university to engage in academic and extracurricular activities.  This must be set up with Kristi Campbell at kcampbell1@walsh.edu.

*Please note, Walsh will make testing available to our international students who are returning to campus following international travel.

Walsh Welcome Weekend

Friday, August 19 – Sunday, August 21
The Fall 2022 semester officially kicks off the weekend prior to the start of classes. Walsh University’s Welcome Weekend is specifically designed to help our all of our Freshman students learn about all the exciting opportunities and important responsibilities of being a member of the Cavalier Community. Welcome Weekend events are required for all Freshman students - including international students.
