What Site Supervisors Have to Say:

"Based on all of the Walsh interns I have had the pleasure of supervising, I feel these students come well prepared academically as I hear them applying terminology from their classes into their work with their clients. The students also reported they feel very encouraged and supported by their professors which I find to be extremely important in their journey through grad school. Walsh professors, especially yourself, have been easy to work with and I love working together to help the students succeed. I feel the practicum program has helped students learn and practice their clinical skills and learn and practice clinical documentation and it seems they are more prepared then for internship. Walsh students/interns tend to have good work ethic also which is extremely important and tend to be professional."

"As our agency’s supervisor of counseling interns, I have had the opportunity to supervise interns from multiple local universities and find Walsh students to be well prepared able to write and summarize clinical counseling content professionally. I have also found a pleasant balance of compassion paired with professionalism for students entering counseling internship. Our agency has hired Walsh interns following completion of the internship and welcomes future Walsh interns due to the positive experience in working together."

"Walsh counseling students enter their internship experience well prepared with the tools they need to engage clients who struggle with life issues. The academic training and practicum experience they receive provide a good foundation that is reflected in the professional manner in which students practice in a community setting and treat their clients using evidence-based practices."
