Christine M. Lynn Appointed Director of the School for Professional Studies

Walsh University has named Christine M. Lynn, Ed.D., as Director of the School for Professional Studies (SPS). Dr. Lynn is a Walsh alumna having earned both her undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University, and brings to this position more than 10 years of higher education enrollment management experience. She joins Walsh from Stark State College, where she recently oversaw the expansion of the college’s new Akron campus.

As the Director of Walsh’s SPS Program, Dr. Lynn will collaborate with administration, faculty and instructional design staff to develop new online degree programs to meet the emerging needs of adult learners.

Dr. Lynn began her career at Walsh as an Admissions Counselor in 2007. During her five-year tenure with the University, she served in various positions including Women’s Golf Graduate Assistant, Assistant Coach and Interim Head Coach, Graduate/Transfer Admissions Counselor from 2009-2010 and Assistant Director, Graduate/Transfer Admissions from 2010-2012. 

"We are excited to welcome Christine back to Walsh," said Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Rebecca Coneglio. "She brings a wealth of higher education experience and knowledge about Walsh University to this position. With the launch of our new Digital Campus, Christine will be instrumental in continuing to move our online programs forward to meet the needs of adult students, and ensure we are providing academic excellence to all our students."

She joined Stark State College as an Advising and Student Engagement Counselor in 2012 and served in various roles of increasing responsibilities from 2012-2018. Among her many achievements at Stark State was the development of the college’s "One-Stop" student service center and the expansion of new campus locations in Akron and Summit County.

Professionally, Dr. Lynn has also led nationally recognized efforts through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Completion by Design Work on Pre-Health Intrusive Advising. Completion by Design is a five-year initiative that works with community colleges to significantly increase completion and graduation rates for low-income students under age 26, while holding down costs and maintaining access and quality. 

Dr. Lynn is also very involved in both her local and professional communities. She maintains active membership in the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling, Ohio Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators, and Ohio Transfer Council. For her many accomplishments, Dr. Lynn was recognized as Stark State College Distinguished Staff of the Year in 2017 and was inducted into the Walsh University Athletic Wall of Fame Member for Women’s Golf in 2014.

Christine Lynn earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University and earned both her MBA with a concentration on Integrated Marketing Communications, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Marketing from Walsh University.
