Rebecca Coneglio and Derrick Wyman Named to New Positions

Walsh University has announced the promotion of two administrators into key leadership roles for the start of the 2019-20 academic year. 

Rebecca Coneglio, Vice President for Enrollment Management

Walsh University has appointed Rebecca Coneglio as Vice President for Enrollment Management, effective July 1.  Coneglio brings to this position more than 15 years of leadership experience at Walsh University in the creation and implementation of strategic higher education enrollment management plans. She previously served as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. 

Reporting to the Provost of the University, Coneglio will be responsible for providing leadership and overall direction in enrollment planning, recruitment, and admission. As Vice President, she will have responsibility for the vision, strategy, and implementation of all student recruitment-oriented initiatives and services. In addition, she will collaborate with academic and student affairs in supporting the University’s retention efforts.

Rebecca Coneglio began her career in 2003 with the Walsh Office of Admissions. Among her many accomplishments, she was instrumental creating and executing recruitment strategies to meet university revenue goals, strengthen the quality of applicants and provide steady enrollment growth, coupled with communication strategies and predictive modeling to build enrollment in targeted areas.

Professionally, she has been a regular presenter at the Ruffalo Noel-Levitz National Conference, the recognized leader in higher education enrollment and fundraising management solutions. She also served as Chair of the Ohio Private College Admission Directors (OPCAD) until 2017. Coneglio is currently a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) Designated School Official, member of the Walsh University President’s Diversity Council and a Marketing Committee Member of Stark County Catholic Schools since 2017.

Rebecca Coneglio ’03, ’06, is an alumna of Walsh having earned both her Master of Arts in Education and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degrees from the University. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton, Rebecca and her husband Ben, have two daughters Olivia and Julia, and reside in North Canton.

Derrick Wyman, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives  

Walsh University has appointed Derrick Wyman to the newly created position of Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, effective July 1. Wyman previously served the University as Associate Vice President for Strategy and Planning.

Reporting directly to the President, Wyman will serve as Chair of PARC, the Primary Strategic Planning Committee of the University, which is responsible for overseeing Walsh’s five-year strategic plan. As Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, Wyman will serve as a liaison with corporations and community and government entities to create strategic partnerships to help advance the University. In addition, Wyman will continue to serve as a co-director of the Renacci Center for Civic Engagement, sharing responsibilities for the Center’s programming with Associate Dean of Experiential Learning Rachel Hosler.

Wyman joined Walsh in 2009 and brings more than 10 years of experience to this position in the fields of fundraising, strategic initiatives, project management and community outreach. Among his many accomplishments at Walsh, he served as one of the lead gift officers for the We Believe Campaign, the largest capital campaign in Walsh history.

Prior to Walsh, Derrick Wyman served as Special Assistant to the President and Government Relations at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio and Director of Public Affairs for the Sisters of Charity Health System in Cleveland.  Wyman currently serves as a Board of Directors member for Summit Academy and served on the Board of Directors for Pathway Caring for Children. He was honored as a 20 Under 40 Professional Leader by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2008.

Derrick Wyman ’06, ’10, is an alumnus of Walsh University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and Foreign Affairs and his Master of Business Administration. 

Derrick and his wife, Angela, have two children, Gabriel and Josephine, and reside in North Canton.
