Walsh University is excited to announce its new membership in The Common Application, the platform that eases the college application process for more than three million applicants, teachers and counselors across the United States and around the world every year.
In addition to providing a single, online application and 24/7/365 support for all students applying to member colleges and universities, the Common App connects applicants to financial aid and scholarship tools, digital portfolios, virtual mentors, a Virtual Counselor, and a library of resources for counselors, advisors, and recommenders working with students to complete their college applications that includes Spanish language translations.
"This has been a process a year in the making," said Walsh Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Rebecca Coneglio. "We wanted to make it as convenient as possible for students to apply to Walsh whether they were on our web site directly or on the Common App. We know that there are a lot of choices out there. As a member of The Common Application, we will be able to reach a larger number of prospective students, while also making the application process an easier one to complete."
By becoming a Common App member, member colleges and universities gain access to students who may not have otherwise considered the institution while making the application, including fee waiver, process more efficient. One-third of the more than one million Common App applicants are the first in their family to pursue a college degree.
Beginning this year, Common App members will also begin using the newly introduced Common App for Transfer, a separate application designed exclusively to meet the needs of transfer and adult student populations.
The Common Application membership represents institutions from 49 U.S. states, 19 countries, and includes more than 160 public institutions, 48 minority serving institutions, and 65 international institutions.
