Walsh University and Neuhaus Education Center will offer a Dyslexia Certification Course this summer from July 15-19 and 22-26, on the campus of Walsh University, GLC Room 202, North Canton, Ohio. Registration deadline is June 15. Course provides up to six graduate credits available through Walsh University.

This structured literacy course leads to practitioner certification for teachers and therapists working with individuals with dyslexia and other related disorders. Instructors will be Rebecca Tolson, M.Ed., CALT-QI and Jennifer LaHaie, M.Ed., CALT will instruct participants on how to plan, deliver, and measure instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, oral language, comprehension and composition for students with dyslexia and related disorders. Cost for summer 2019 is $2,600; total cost is $3,235 (includes future course offerings and all materials). In addition, students will also have the opportunity earn up to six Walsh credit hours through the creation of two courses that align with the training.  The cost will be $300/credit hour for those interested.

  • Basic Language Skills- Introduction (12 days)
  • Reading Readiness (1 day, online)
  • Developing Metacognitive Strategies (2 days)
  • Multisensory Grammar (1 day)
  • 85 hours of intensive supervised practicum
