The Walsh University community is thrilled to welcome its newest members, the Class of 2021, along with their families on Saturday, August 26, for Opening Weekend.
Upon arrival, students will check-in at the David Campus Center to receive their housing assignment packages and instructions on move-in time. The morning will conclude with lunch in the Schervish Dining Center and the Matriculation Ceremony at the Cecchini Health and Wellness Complex. Matriculation is a formal traditional ceremony with faculty in full regalia, celebrating the mutual partnership to support and challenge students to become leaders in service while pursuing their undergraduate degree. The first year class hereby enters into the learning community that is Walsh University. Students need to wear the Walsh University shirt provided at check in.
Parents are invited to join their students for the morning activities and the Matriculation Ceremony.
Throughout the remainder of the weekend, incoming students engage in a variety of social activities, participate in an orientation for their major, and are introduced to their GE100/110 course, which consists of a series of small group meetings led by a specifically trained and selected instructor to guide students on topics as college survival skills, diversity, responsible decision-making, career development, academic support systems, justice and peace issues, and healthy relationships. On behalf of the entire Walsh community, we welcome you!
