Why did you chose Walsh?
I chose Walsh University for several reasons. Walsh's friendly environment and small campus size appealed to me because it wasn't as overwhelming is some universities. A generous scholarship package made Walsh affordable.
Describe briefly what you do in your current job:
My duties include crafting news stories for daily publication on Timken's global intranet as well as research and editing technical papers for publication. In addition, I monitor web traffic data for company, social media presence and global outreach. I also assist the communications executives and managers with daily tasks.
How did Walsh prepare you for your current job?
Although I was not a communications major, Walsh prepared me by providing a well-rounded education that emphasized the need for great writing and communication skill in every area of study. As a result, I entered the job market as a confident, qualified candidate.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering attending Walsh University?
Regardless of your intended area of study, take advantage of every opportunity Walsh provides. Don't be afraid to explore areas outside of what's required for your major. Take a writing or public speech class, even though you might be a nursing or science major. Join different clubs and get involved as much as possible, because once you are in a professional setting, those are the skills and expertise every employer looks for.
