The Data Analytics – Integrated Data Solutions workshop builds on Levels 1 and 2 to focus upon
developing, implementing, and integrating specific IoT/Data Analytics solutions across organizations and
employees within different departments of the organization. The program includes examples and use
cases which help to demonstrate how to practically employ and manage the technologies in a business
setting in order to maximize business efficiencies and sustain development of a data driven
organization.

Upon completion of this hands-on experience, participants will build on the key data analytics
competencies and learn how to integrate data systems company-wide to eliminate redundancies and
streamline efficiencies across multiple departments within their organization.

Skills include:

  • learning how data can be used to manage employee productivity
  • learning the inter-connected relationship between the concepts as they relate to or impact other departments within the organization
  • communicating technical information to peers, management and/or other key stakeholders in a
way that fosters collaboration and facilitates the adoption and integration of new data solutions
    within the workplace
  • identifying how to deliver the right date to the right person in the best format in order to create
and sustain a data driven organization

The technology-driven components involve the use of IoT-related technologies and other systems to collect real-time data, the use of cloud-based technologies to capture and manage the data, and the use of software applications, such as Excel, Power Bi, etc., to clean, analyze, and present the results in useful form for the dissemination to individuals throughout the organization. The program then involves the adjustment of technological systems in light of the results from analytics.

In the modern global economy, business decisions are driven by data analytics to a greater degree than ever before. Employees who understand analytics, metrics and the connections between analytics/metrics and business decisions become more valuable to all companies. The modern workforce must not only possess the knowledge and skills needed to run machinery, deal with supply chain processes and work collaboratively, they must have an understanding of “smart machines”, realtime data collection, data management, decision-making, and communicating information quickly to the proper destinations. The detailed report generated by the National Science Board in 2019 shows clear evidence of the need to upgrade the American workforce in technology, analytics, and communication skills if America is to remain competitive in global markets.

This course builds on the case studies and practical examples of the application of skills to solve realworld problems studied in the Data Analytics – Applied Business Solution program. In doing so, the knowledge and skills are reinforced and refined to deepen the participants’ understanding of the interconnected relationship between the concepts related to other departments within the organization. This will give the participants a more robust proficiency in understanding which key metrics are important for each segment of the business. As such, they will further be able to identify how to deliver the right data to the right person in the best format in order to create and sustain a data driven organization. The result is a better workforce, a more efficient operation, and enhanced global competitiveness.
