Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine - 2nd year student

Why did you chose Walsh?

My two older sisters Bernadette and Theresa both attended Walsh before me. While it was common for me to follow in their footsteps, I really wasn't that interested in Walsh. It was merely an option in the back of my mind, until I came for a college day visit. I couldn't explain it, but Walsh immediately felt like home and I knew it was the place for me. After I received a track scholarship, all of the pieces just fell into place!

Describe briefly what you do in your current job:

This is a big year for me because this fall I will get to decide my core site where I'd like to complete my rotations and possibly my residency.

How did Walsh prepare you for your current job?

I've always been very driven in all that I do and my time at Walsh only enforced that drive. My professors really encouraged and helped me to find ways to make my goals possible. They taught me to look for the hidden opportunities and not be afraid to go after my dreams to make my goals a reality.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering attending Walsh University?

As I told my younger sister Jennifer, make the most of your college years. Get involved. You're going to make mistakes, but what matters is that you learn from them. And always hit the ground running!
