Summer Orientation

Welcome to Walsh University! We are thrilled you've chosen to be part of the Walsh University community and look forward to your arrival on campus. Your Walsh experience begins by attending Summer Orientation. Since Orientation is integral to your Walsh experience, attendance is required.

During Summer Orientation, you will connect with Walsh students, faculty in your major, University staff, and your academic advisor. You will also complete any necessary placement testing and participate in a variety of interactive sessions covering Walsh's unique programs and services. Parents are also welcome to participate in Orientation and can attend a variety of programs
designed just for them.

To help make your Summer Orientation experience easier, a group of current Walsh students will be there to help you through the day. "Orientation Leaders" are current students who return in the summer just to welcome you to Walsh. These students can answer many of your questions and provide you with practical advice on the college experience.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family into the Walsh community.

Placement Testing

Foreign language placement testing is required to be completed electronically 2 weeks prior to the day of orientation. To start the foreign language test, click here.

At Summer Orientation, students will complete a math placement test. Any materials required for the math test will be provided (paper, pencils).

Pre-nursing majors are required to complete an electronic chemistry placement test 2 weeks prior to the day of orientation. To start the chemistry test, click here.

These tests do not determine your admission to the University. Students attending summer orientation have already been accepted to Walsh!

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

If you are a student with a disability that would like to request accommodations for placement testing, please contact Meredith Soduk, the Director of Accessibility Services, at (330) 490-7529 or msoduk@walsh.edu. It is recommended that students make arrangements for accommodations three weeks prior to the date of New Student Orientation.
