As the Associate Vice President for Academic Administration, Dr. Edna McCulloh brings two decades of experience in academic support for students. In this role, she is responsible for providing the strategic vision for the University’s Academic Services. Dr. McCulloh oversees the Academic Services’ student support areas: Accessibility Services, Brother Edmond Drouin Library, First Gen Cavs, First-year and Second-year Experience Programs; Office of the Registrar, First-year Academic Advising, and Tutorial Support. Dr. McCulloh is passionate about helping students to discover their purpose and complete their educational goals. She is dedicated to promoting life-long learning, personal development, retention, and graduation.
Dr. McCulloh joined Walsh University in 1998 as University Registrar. Prior to joining Walsh, she served as Assistant Registrar at both Baker College (Muskegon, Michigan) and Youngstown State University. She served as University Registrar until 2015, at which time she was promoted to Dean of Academic Services. During her tenure as Registrar, Dr. McCulloh led the migration of the University’s first online student course registration and faculty self-service systems, the expansion of military student support services, at-risk student support resources and multicultural student academic services, including the program SWATS (Students with an Attitude to Succeed).
Promoted in 2018 from Dean of Academic Services to her current role of Associate Vice President for Academic Administration, her leadership pioneered several new programs and initiatives, including but not limited to an expanded freshmen to sophomore year experience program, a professional dining etiquette and networking skills initiative, and a first in family program designed to support first-generation college students. Dr. McCulloh earned a doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership and applied her passion for and determination to help first-generation college students by focusing her dissertation on their college retention and parental support. The research was published in 2022 in the Journal of College Student Retention: Research, Theory and Practice.
In 2019, Dr. McCulloh was named a Notable Woman of the Year by Crain’s Cleveland Business Magazine. In 2024, she was featured in a Canton Repository interview for pioneering the First-Gen Cavs program. In 2025, she was the featured cover story for the Summer issue of Phenomenal Woman Magazine. Dr. McCulloh serves in a nominated position on the Parent Advisory Board for the Akron Public Schools District, as Treasurer for the Sister Sharing Ministry, and as President of the Deaconess Board at World Fellowship Interdenominational Church (WFIC). Under her leadership as pastor’s wife at WFIC, three new programs were established: the Sister Sharing Women’s Ministry, the Praise and Worship Team Ministry, and the Music and Media Team Ministry.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Aquinas College, a Master of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, and her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University.
