Experiential Learning is the opportunity for students to extend their knowledge and apply their skills outside of the traditional classroom setting to better prepare them for lifelong careers.

At Walsh, students can participate in programs that embed work experiences into the curriculum through internships, practicum experiences, fieldwork, research, service learning and global trips.

Join Walsh University students each year who participate in Study Beyond experiences through the Office of Culture and Belonging. Opportunities include semester and short-term study abroad programs as well as international internships through Walsh’s global partners in locations such as Austria, Ireland, and Rome. Program lengths range from  a few weeks to an entire semester depending on the experience.

100% of Walsh students will take one Service-Learning course before they graduate, and many will take more. The Service-Learning Office helps connect students to the local Stark County community and equips students to be change-makers and leaders in service.

The Office of Alumni and Career Connections, in partnership with department internship coordinators, helps prepare students for their first job and for lifelong careers by connecting them with future employers, guiding them in the articulation of their competencies, and equipping them with professional skills.
