Walsh Names Kristin C. Hannon Director of Human Resources and Culture

Walsh University has announced the appointment of Kristin C. Hannon, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR, as Director of Human Resources and Culture. 

Walsh University’s Director of Human Resources and Culture will be responsible for providing the human resources vision, direction and leadership for Walsh University, with understanding for the commitment of an independent, faith-based institution. Reporting to the President, this position will play a key role in setting and executing human resources strategy and supporting the goals of the organization.

Kristin C. Hannon brings more than 18 years of functional and strategic human resources experience honed from a mix of private and public educational institutions as well as Fortune 100 companies, along with nine years of team management experience.

She joins Walsh from Spectrum (Charter Communications) where she served as Manager of Human Resources responsible for implementing and managing HR policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employee relations and compliance with government regulations and company goals. Prior to Spectrum, Hannon was the Director of Human Resources and Staff Development at the University of Mount Union. Her experience also includes Stark State College Director of Career Development from 2011-2017 and various human resources appointments with Nationwide Insurance from 1988-2011.

Hannon earned her Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Malone University. In addition, she holds certifications from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Human Resources Certification Institute as a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Hannon is a member of the National Society for Human Resources Management and Stark County Human Resource Association where she served as Chair of the Communications Committee.

Her community involvement is extensive with key leadership positions that reflect her professional and personal interests. She is a graduate of the 30th Class of Leadership Stark County and has volunteered with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival since 2003, serving as co-chair of the First Play/Ambassador Committee. She has been a member of the Akron/Canton Regional Foodbank Board of Trustees since 2012, and recently joined Strengthening Stark as a Talent Development Sub-Committee member. She has served on the Development Board of Ohio Means Jobs Stark and Tuscarawas Counties since 2018, and just concluded a three-year term as a member of the ArtsinStark Board of Trustees.
