World Student Organization Hosts Sold-Out Event

International Students Share their Traditions at the International Dinner and Cultural Festival

The Walsh University community celebrated its global campus community during the annual International Dinner and Cultural Festival on Saturday, March 25, in the Cecchini Center. It was a sold-out event with more than 200 guests, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members.

The festival showcased the musical, lyrical, poetic and performance skills of several students representing Nepal, India, Ghana, Bolivia and the United States. Guests were also treated to a fashion show of colorful Ghanaian traditional attire for special occasions, while the Nepali dancers wore native silk sarees.

Since its inception in the late 1980s, this highly-anticipated event has brought people together for a night of food and fellowship to celebrate the heritage of Walsh’s international community. The Walsh University campus is home to more than 145 international students from 27 different countries.

Organized by the Office of International Student Services and The World Student Organization, the event featured a buffet style dinner prepared by Walsh international students and served alongside meals donated by Sodexo and area restaurants. This year’s event Emcees included World Student Organization club president Shruti Gupta (Nepal) and member Anastasiia Didenko (Ukraine).
