Walsh University Partners Program Welcomes City of North Canton as Inaugural Partner

Walsh University entered a new partnership with the City of North Canton, under the leadership of Mayor Stephan B. Wilder, marking a significant milestone as the inaugural member of Walsh’s Partners Program, an initiative launched this year. This collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to advancing education and fostering professional development within the local community.

During an official signing ceremony at Walsh University’s Toot Global Learning Center, President Tim Collins conveyed his sentiments, stating, “This moment is long overdue. We perceive Walsh University as a valuable asset for the entire community and region. We look forward to welcoming you, your staff, the council and all citizens. On behalf of all of us at the University, thank you.”

Mayor Wilder, echoing the sentiment, shared his enthusiasm, “It makes perfect sense for us to partner with Walsh University, our esteemed hometown institution. Walsh has long been a beacon of excellence in education, fostering innovation and community engagement. The forward-thinking Partners Program offers our dedicated employees – the very individuals who serve and advocate for our community – the chance to pursue advanced degrees or certificates at Walsh. By investing in their career growth, we’re laying the groundwork for a brighter future for North Canton and its residents.”

Recognized as North Canton’s “hometown university,” Walsh is dedicated to providing unparalleled educational opportunities tailored for organizations and corporations through its Degree Completion and Graduate Enrollment office. The newly established Walsh University Partners Program aims to cultivate symbiotic relationships that address specific community needs while enriching the educational journey of its students.

At the heart of this initiative lies a dedication to empowering employees in their pursuit of higher education and degree completion. Through discounted tuition rates, companies can now facilitate access to affordable education, thereby enhancing the skills and professional growth of their workforce.

As part of this particular partnership, the City of North Canton will host one city council meeting per year at Walsh University, formalize internship programs for Walsh students, and provide city staff as guest lecturers for various academic programs.

Rebecca Coneglio, Vice President for Enrollment Management, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to engage with the City of North Canton to showcase the incredible potential of our program. By extending exclusive opportunities and discounted tuition rates, we aim to empower businesses and organizations in our community and beyond to invest in the growth and development of their workforce.”

While the current focus is on strengthening relationships with local companies, the program’s potential for national expansion is evident. With online program offerings eliminating geographical barriers, Walsh envisions a future where the Partners Program transcends local boundaries, creating educational and professional opportunities on a national scale.
