Walsh University will honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of justice, equality, and service with a Day of Service on January 20, followed by Human Dignity Week from January 20-24. Hundreds of students will engage in community service projects across Stark County, continuing Dr. King’s mission of promoting peace, solidarity, and care for the marginalized.
The Day of Service will begin at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast at the Schervish Dining Centre in the David Center. Stark County Prosecutor Kyle Stone will address the volunteers, inspiring them as they prepare to serve the community. Following the address, students will participate in service projects at more than 13 local organizations on campus and across Stark County.

Throughout Human Dignity Week (January 20-24), Walsh University will host additional events focused on human dignity, including the MLK Jr. Essay Contest, workshops, campus ministry activities, and a basketball game. Notable highlights include the Blouin Scholar Human Dignity and Poverty Awareness event, a March for Life trip to Washington, D.C., and Men’s and Women’s basketball games against Malone University.
