Walsh University Appoints Timothy Montgomery as Director of Marketing

Walsh University announced the appointment of Timothy Montgomery as Director of Marketing. Montgomery, who brings nearly a decade of professional marketing experience, will report to the Vice President for Marketing & Communications/Chief Public Affairs Officer.

In this role, Montgomery will oversee the planning, execution, tracking, and analysis of University-wide marketing, advertising, and social media initiatives. He will also serve as the University’s primary media buyer and project manager for marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, special event promotion, online initiatives, and sponsorship marketing.

Montgomery comes to Walsh from the Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA), where he served as Marketing Administrator for nearly nine years. During his tenure, he led the creation and execution of award-winning marketing campaigns across platforms including social media, radio, streaming, cable, and print. His efforts helped SARTA earn three national AdWheel Awards from the American Public Transit Association. Montgomery was also instrumental in implementing the nationally recognized “Borrow-A-Bus” program, which promoted hydrogen fuel cell technology to transit agencies across the United States.

A native of Canton, Montgomery has strong roots in the local community and a proven record of building partnerships through sponsorships, events, and outreach initiatives. He holds both a Master of Business Administration and dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Engineering Technology with a minor in Marketing from Kent State University, where he added school spirit to his marketing work with the Intercollegiate Athletics Marketing Department by performing as “Flash,” the Golden Flashes mascot.

With his extensive experience and local ties, Montgomery is well positioned to advance Walsh University’s marketing initiatives and strengthen its engagement with the community.
