Walsh University Launches the WU Promise Grant, Offering Tuition-Free Education for Eligible Students

Walsh University is proud to announce the WU Promise Grant, a transformative financial aid program designed to remove cost barriers for high-achieving students with significant financial need, making it possible for them to pursue a Walsh education tuition-free.

“We believe that a student’s potential—not their financial circumstances—should define their future,” said Rebecca Coneglio, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “The WU Promise Grant reflects our commitment to expanding access and opportunity, helping students who have worked hard and achieved academic success pursue their college dreams and reach their goals.”

To qualify for the WU Promise Grant, students must meet these eligibility requirements:

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline and qualify for a need-based Federal Pell Grant

  • Be an Ohio resident
  • Have earned a high school GPA of 3.75 or higher
  • Enroll as a traditional, full-time, first-year student pursuing their first bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrate financial need consistent with Pell Grant eligibility, generally associated with household incomes of $65,000 or less, though eligibility may vary based on household size and other factors

The award is renewable for up to eight semesters for students who maintain full-time enrollment, remain in good academic standing, and continue progressing toward their degree.
