Walsh University announced the appointment of Stephanie Monastra Wilder as Director of Campus and Community Events, where she will oversee community rentals and event management for Walsh University owned facilities including the Barrette Business and Community Center, Hoover Park and Hoover Hall, and other campus venues. She will also work in coordination with Athletics to manage bookings for the Cecchini Health and Wellness Complex and the athletic facilities and fields.
In this role, Wilder will coordinate campus events requested by University offices, personnel, and student organizations, as well as manage special events hosted by external community groups. She will collaborate across departments to ensure successful planning and execution of events that engage both the campus and local community.
Wilder brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in event management, hospitality operations, and client relations. She most recently served as Director of the Conference Center at Kent State University at Stark, where she managed event operations and developed initiatives to strengthen community partnerships and revenue-generating activities.
Prior to her tenure at Kent State, Wilder spent 13 years at Diebold, Inc., where she advanced through a series of leadership roles including Director of Global Events and Director of Corporate Events and Executive Business Services. She managed global conferences, trade shows, and executive-level meetings, overseeing budgets, contracts, and staff across multiple international locations.
Wilder has been recognized throughout her career for excellence in the events industry, earning honors including an IMA Award, a SITE Crystal Award, and multiple Telly Awards in the live events and motivational categories. She was also nominated for the MPI Meeting Planner of the Year Award – Ohio Chapter.
A cum laude graduate of Bowling Green State University, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and earned her Executive MBA from Kent State University. Deeply committed to community involvement, Wilder has volunteered with organizations such as Meeting Professionals International, United Way of Greater Stark County, the American Heart Association, and Arts in Stark.
