With the start of the new academic year, several campus beautification projects are nearing completion. These donor-designated additions to campus were made possible through the generosity of Walsh’s benefactors last year, before COVID-19 pandemic and were specifically earmarked for these special projects. A new walkway entrance called Founders’ Plaza has been added to on the site of the former BP gas station lot at the corner of Market Avenue and Easton Street. Founders’ Plaza will include a clock tower, walkway entrance to campus and the installation of the recently restored Founders’ statue donated to the University from the F.I.C. Brothers in Canada.  Work is also near completion on the new Larry Staudt ‘67 Turf Field, which will serve as the home field for the Cavalier soccer, lacrosse and football teams. In addition, the University is adding a new bonfire pit next to the David Campus Center. These new outdoor facilities will help to enhance campus life and provide opportunities for Walsh’s students to gather while maintaining physical distancing.
