We first met the day of the freshman social on the grassy knoll, but didn’t really talk to one another until the end of freshman year. I had to adjust my class schedule due to a softball game and switched into a different biology lab for the week. I ended up being partners with him for a GPS coordinates based lab and we ended up running all over campus trying to map and find certain landmarks. Definitely a good ice breaker! Afterwards, we continued hanging out and getting to know one another better after the semester and into the summer when we eventually started dating.

The Proposal:

After about 4 years of dating, he asked me to marry him in August of 2016. He had asked both of my parents for their permission several weeks before, to which my mom replied “Yes, but once she’s yours no trade backs”... We had an overnight trip to Niagara Falls planned for our 4 year anniversary. When we got there, we unpacked at the hotel and started toward Horseshoe Falls. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. On the way, we saw a large rock that jutted out over the rapids, so we climbed up onto it to get a better view. There was nobody else there, just the two of us. As we stood overlooking the rapids he asked me a few questions, such as if I was having a good time, where I wanted to go next etc. Nothing really out of the ordinary. After a few minutes he said, “I just have one more question for you.” That’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I happily accepted! We spent the rest of the trip taking a Cave of the Winds tour, hiking through Whirlpool State Park, exploring the area, dining at the Hard Rock, and having drinks and watching fireworks over the falls from the sky box of our hotel. It was truly a magical trip and one I’ll never forget.

Where are you now?:

Jordan and I got married in 2018 in Warren, OH and we’ve been here ever since. We currently reside in Howland and have one beautiful dog together. Jordan is a physical therapist and I work as a lab technician. We constantly talk about the memories we’ve made at Walsh University and the friends we met along the way. It’s one of our favorite places and we’ve never turned down an opportunity to go back and visit the campus. It was definitely one of the best times of our lives.
