How They Met:

"Like many other Walsh freshman, I lived in Alexis hall. One night by chance the people who lived in my room the year before came to introduce themselves. I began hanging out with them and their circle of friends, which included Matt. Matt and I had a lot in common and would sit outside on a bench by the back door of Lemmon hall talking late into the night. One night in particular, some of us were listening to music in Matt's car and I asked if he had one obscure song called, "Konstantine". Because of the rarity of the song, Matt says to this day that when I requested that song, he knew he liked me. When a relationship I was in ended soon after, Matt and I continued to hang out and on March 25th we began dating. That date was so special to us, we got married on March 25th seven years later."

The Proposal:

"Matt proposed on the 4th of July, his favorite holiday. We were together in Canton and we had to run a few errands before going to my parent's for a picnic. In hindsight, Matt was acting very strange. We had to pick up sparklers, so we started to drive to Wal-Mart, but he never turned in and said that he needed to get gas. Then he started driving over towards Walsh, even though he had already passed multiple gas stations. When he pulled into Walsh's parking lot, I knew something was going to happen and as he drove to the back of campus, he reached into the back seat and gave me a Build-A-Bear flamingo and told me to squeeze it's leg. He had recorded himself singing Adam Sandler's song, "I Wanna Grow Old With You," from the Wedding Singer. By the time it was done singing, he had pulled into the parking spot where we first listened to the song Konstantine together and he proposed. Afterwards, we went to my parent's where both our families were waiting with a surprise engagement party for us. "

Where Are They Now?

"In March of 2018, we will be having our 7 year married anniversary and 14 total years together. We live in Canton with our two pups, Moose and Forrest. Upon graduation, I was hired in at Tusky Valley Local Schools as an Intervention Specialist. This is my 9th year there. Matt is currently serving his second year as principal at Apple Creek Elementary. Previous to this position, he was an administrator at Orrville Elementary and ran an Autism unit in New Philadelphia Middle School. Our time together at Walsh, especially while spending time in the Hannon Center pursuing our degrees, has and will always be a special time in our lives."
