Inspired by Br. Marcel Sylvester & St. Katharine Drexel

Photo of Brother Marcel Sylvestre

Brother Marcel Sylvester, F.I.C., serves as an inspiration for this Cor. Br. Marcel dedicated a lifetime of service, working for peace and justice, especially with the poor. In his retirement he served as the Director of Agencies for Development Assistance, providing financial assistance to non-profits in 139 countries. Jointly, this Cor is inspired by St. Katharine Drexel, an American religious sister who dedicated herself to the poor and showed courage in addressing social inequality, especially among minorities. A community of learners developing a balance between selflessness and selfishness is a key characteristic of this Cor.
