GE 100 Cav Compass: Finding your Path to Success Description:
This required one-credit hour course helps first-year, traditional-age students transition successfully to campus life, both academically and socially. Students will build a sense of belonging, engage in curricular and co-curricular activities, strengthen critical thinking, resiliency, and life skills, explore the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and begin discovering their purpose, meaning, and direction.
- Designed for traditional first-year students, this course supports the academic and social transition into college life, with particular emphasis on human dignity, information literacy, technology, critical thinking, and healthy relationships. Instructors guide small groups through a series of interactive reading, research, and writing activities.
Upon completion of GE 100, students will be able to:
- Successfully engage with the Walsh University campus community and connect with members of the University’s alumni network.
- Utilize appropriate skills and access campus resources that support academic, social, and professional development.
- Apply their values, academic skills, and personal and professional interests to explore career pathways and discover their purpose.
