Walsh University has been designated a Collegiate Purple Star campus for its efforts to support students with military backgrounds by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) Chancellor Randy Garner. This designation assures service members, veterans, and other military-connected students are able to access the resources and support systems they need to pursue their educational goals. Designations are determined by a Collegiate Purple Star Advisory Committee appointed by the Chancellor and composed of members from organizations that include but aren’t limited to ODHE, the Ohio Veterans Education Council, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, the Ohio Adjutant General’s Department, and the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission K-12 Purple Star Committee.

Walsh University has been designated a Top Ten Military Friendly® School earning a No. 4 ranking in the private schools offering a doctorate category. Walsh University earned Top Ten Gold status honors for its support of veteran students and their dependents. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with less than half receiving Military Friendly® recognition, and only 250 earned a gold status according to the Military Friendly program. Military Friendly Schools® measure an institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student Veterans.

NursingProcess.org announced that Walsh University’s Byers School of Nursing Bachelor or Science in Nursing (BSN) program ranked No. 9 out of 660 nursing programs in the Midwest. Nursing Process is an online resource that provides nursing students with education and career information to help make better choices. Currently, the site reaches more than 100,000 students every month, from all over the country.

The Peace Corps announced that Walsh University ranked number 9 among schools on the agency’s list of top Peace Corps Prep certificate-issuing partners in 2021. Walsh University issued 18 Peace Corps Prep certificates to the graduating class of 2021.

U.S. News & World Report has named Walsh University’s Master of Arts in Education (MAED) online program as one of the best for 2021. Walsh’s MAED program was ranked high enough to earn a place on the list of badge-eligible programs and therefore the right to be called a U.S. News Best Online Program.
