Walsh University Earns a Top Ten Military Friendly School Designation

Walsh University has been designated as a Top Ten Military Friendly® School earning its highest-ever ranking in the private schools offering a doctorate category with a No. 4 ranking following an announcement by the Military Friendly® program March 7. Walsh University earned Top Ten Gold status honors for its support of veteran students and their dependents.

“To be ranked 4th amongst the nation’s  private colleges is a huge recognition for all of the work that we’ve done to ensure we are serving our veteran students the best that we can,” said Rebecca Coneglio, Vice President for Enrollment Management.  “I’m excited about the opportunity to expand our outreach to this population through our new Center for Veteran Affairs where we can continue to provide top level support to our veterans and their families.”

More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with less than half receiving Military Friendly® recognition, and only 250 earned a gold status according to the Military Friendly program.

Founded in 2003, the Military Friendly® program creates civilian opportunities for veterans, according to Military Friendly®. By setting a standard, promoting it and raising the bar over time, it provides long-term, positive reinforcement for American organizations to invest in programs that improve the lives of military families. It is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey.

Military Friendly Schools® measure an institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student Veterans.
