Walsh University’s MSN-PMHNP Program Ranked Second in Ohio for 2026

Walsh University’s College of Health Sciences, Byers School of Nursing, has been recognized as one of the top programs in Ohio for 2026, earning a No. 2 ranking in the state from RegisteredNursing.org for its Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track.

The MSN-PMHNP program prepares registered nurses to provide comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan. Through a rigorous curriculum and comprehensive clinical training, the program prepares graduates to lead efforts that address the mental health workforce shortage and improve access to high-quality care in both urban and rural communities.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The curriculum integrates advanced clinical training with evidence-based practice, ethics, and interprofessional collaboration, preparing nurses to diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions, prescribe medications where permitted, and provide psychotherapy and supportive interventions.

Admission requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and active RN licensure. Designed for working professionals, the program offers flexible learning options and personalized faculty support.

The College of Health Sciences, Byers School of Nursing, continues to expand its graduate offerings to meet workforce needs in Ohio and beyond, such as providing flexible online nurse practitioner tracks designed for working registered nurses.
