NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Walsh University has stepped up to help business professionals keep up with the ever-changing world of artificial intelligence (AI), with a new advanced degree track, available for the 2026-27 academic year, to prepare business leaders to evaluate, manage and implement AI solutions.
With recent approvals by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission, the Master of Business Administration in AI Management is the newest available track for those who want an edge in managing the world of AI.
The degree track was created in response to a call from the region’s business community for more managers trained to lead their enterprises through the complexities of AI. “We are responding to the needs of business and the vision of organizations like the AI Collective, the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, which have set goals to help the businesses of Northeast Ohio turn the region into a leader in integrating AI into existing businesses,” said Marc Fusaro, Ph.D., dean of the DeVille School of Business at Walsh University.
Between discussions with Walsh’s business advisory group and university leaders’ own experience with AI, the business school saw a growing need for AI savvy managers.
“At Walsh, we strive to continuously improve our offerings by scanning the business environment,” said Dartanian Warr, Ph.D., graduate program director for the DeVille School and assistant professor of management. “Our team knew there was a need to create a systematic way for professionals to learn how to identify, use, manage and hire those in the AI space. This new MBA track elevates the next generation of leaders' ability to manage AI effectively and ethically.”
The business school has been developing the new degree track for the past year.
“It takes a well-trained professional to lead the kind of organizational cultural shift that AI has brought about,” Fusaro noted, “This program will help students become those leaders.”
The MBA program is available fully-online, or as a hybrid of online and on-campus learning.
“The Walsh MBA is the perfect opportunity for professionals to reflect upon their journey to senior leadership,” Warr added. “Our offerings, from AI and data analytics to health care management, all provide professionals with the time, tools and academic challenge to help them determine how they want their careers to develop over the next three to 10 years.”
