NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Walsh University has made new appointments to staff roles on campus.
Eric D. Nevins Jr. recently was named Director of Student Outreach and Support, bringing to Walsh students more than a decade of experience creating supportive environments.
Nevins has built his career around one central commitment: helping people thrive. His experience spans student and youth development, strategic and organizational leadership, program development, public speaking, community engagement and creating experiences that bring people together around a shared purpose.
Throughout his career, he has led programs, developed leaders, facilitated large-group experiences, built community partnerships, and created systems designed to strengthen connection, belonging, personal development and access to support.
Nevins now brings that experience home to Walsh, where his work will focus on strengthening student connection, support and success. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Walsh University and a master’s degree in leadership from Grand Canyon University.
He comes to Walsh from Red Oak Behavioral Health in Akron, Ohio, where he served as a prevention coordinator.
“Walsh University helped shape who I am, so returning here as a leader carries tremendous meaning for me,” he said. “I’m excited to help create a student experience where people know they matter, know where to turn when they need support and are challenged to live up to their full potential. For me, this is more than student support. It’s about helping build a culture where students can truly flourish.”
