Course Overview: 

15 Modules

This course prepares learners for modern office productivity work by combining employer-requested “Premiere Skills” (interpersonal skills, professional communication, conflict management, critical conversations, time management, and change management) with hands-on technical training in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. Students build practical competency using core Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), document workflows, and collaboration habits in Teams, with frequent opportunities to practice workplace-ready communication and digital professionalism. 

Course Objectives: 

  • Build practical proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other applications.
  • Excel - Create and format spreadsheets; use formulas/functions, tables, sorting/filtering, and charts to analyze data. 
  • Word - Draft, format, and proofread professional documents using styles, page layout, and collaboration tools. 
  • PowerPoint - Design clear presentations using layouts, visuals, charts, and speaker notes; deliver and share slide decks. 
  • Outlook - Manage email professionally; use calendar scheduling, contacts, and tasks to stay organized. 
  • Teams - Collaborate using chat, channels, meetings, and shared files; follow digital etiquette and teamwork norms. 
  • Adobe Acrobat basics - View, create, combine, comment on, and export PDFs for common document workflows. 
  • Demonstrate workplace-ready interpersonal skills, thoughtfulness, and professionalism in team settings 
  • Communicate effectively in the workplace using clear, audience-appropriate verbal and nonverbal communication.
  • Identify and manage conflict, and apply tools for conducting critical conversations constructively.
  • Use time and energy management tools to plan, prioritize, and meet workplace expectations.
  • Apply change-management concepts to adapt to new tools, processes, and expectations.

Module Breakdown: 

Module 1 – Introduction to Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 Products: Overview of Microsoft 365 apps, cloud storage concepts, and workplace file organization. 

Module 2 – Microsoft Excel: Core spreadsheet skills for workplace tasks (data entry, formatting, formulas, tables, basic charts and pivot tables).  

Module 3 – Microsoft Word: Create and format professional documents; basic page layout, styles, and collaboration habits.  Document creation/formatting assessment using a workplace-ready prompt. 

Module 4 – Microsoft PowerPoint: Build clear slide decks; layout, visuals, speaker notes, and presenting basics. Practical presentation assessment using a short workplace scenario. 

Module 5 – Microsoft Outlook: Email professionalism, calendar basics, and organizing messages and tasks.  Assessment focused on email, calendar scheduling, and workplace etiquette. 

Module 6 – Adobe Acrobat (PDF Basics): Navigate, create, combine, edit, comment, and export PDFs for common workplace workflows. 

Module 7 – Microsoft 365 Integrations and Summary: How Office apps work together; file sharing, collaboration, and wrap-up of core workflows. 

Module 8 – Microsoft Teams: Chat, teams/channels, meetings, files, and collaboration norms; digital professionalism in Teams. 

Module 9 – Premiere Skills: Interpersonal Skills and Thoughtfulness: Establish workplace expectations for professionalism, empathy, collaboration, and respectful interactions. 

Module 10 – Premiere Skills: Professional Communication in the Workplace: How to communicate effectively so people will listen; clarity, tone, and audience awareness. Verbal and non-verbal tools used in the workplace for success; listening and feedback basics. 

Module 11 – Premiere Skills: Managing Conflict in the Workplace: Understand conflict and learn to manage consequences; identify triggers and options for de-escalation. Understand your personal role in conflict; reduce unnecessary escalation and unproductive venting. 

Module 12 – Premiere Skills: Critical Conversations: What a critical conversation is and why it matters in the workplace. Tools for preparing, conducting, and debriefing critical conversations respectfully. 

Module 13 – Premiere Skills: Effective Time Management: Why time management (and time “potential”) is critical to workplace success; basics of planning and prioritization.  Tools for effective time and energy management (habits, calendars, task lists, boundaries). 

Module 14 – Premiere Skills: Change Management: Why change management matters and how to approach change successfully in the workplace. The change management cycle and how to use it; introduction to ADKAR as a practical framework. 

Module 15 – Course Assessment: Final assessment combining Premiere Skills scenarios and Microsoft 365/Teams practical tasks. 

Additional Experiential Learning and Activities: 

To further enhance learning, the course may include opportunities for real-world practice using Microsoft 365 and Teams in workplace-style scenarios: 

  • Workplace Simulations: Role-based scenarios that require professional emails, meetings, conflict resolution, and critical conversations supported by Microsoft 365 tools. 
  • Portfolio Artifacts: Students produce a set of workplace-ready artifacts (formatted document, spreadsheet, slide deck, and Teams collaboration evidence). 
  • Employer Engagement (Optional): Guest speakers, hiring manager Q&A, and optional job shadowing or mock interviews aligned to employer expectations. 

These activities aim to reinforce professional behavior and communication while giving learners repeated practice with Microsoft 365 and Teams workflows used in everyday office roles. 

Program Cost

The Introduction to Microsoft 365 with Teams course is offered at a fee of $3,000 per student. This all-inclusive cost covers the following: 

  1. Tuition and Instructional Support: Instructor-led training, lab activities, and facilitated practice scenarios. 
  2. Curriculum and Tooling Access: Course materials and any required app/tool access used during training. 
  3. Experiential Learning Activities: Guest speaker honorariums and coordination for optional work-based learning are covered under the per participant fee. 

The per-student fee ensures a comprehensive educational experience that blends employer-requested Premiere Skills with hands-on Microsoft 365 and Teams training, helping learners build workplace-ready communication, productivity, and collaboration habits.
