Ally, a Walsh University student
Class of 2025, 2027
Major: Doctor of Physical Therapy

Ally Sabol’s journey at Walsh University has been shaped by purpose, faith, and a commitment to serving others. A 3+3 student in Exercise Science Pre-Physical Therapy and Psychology, she is pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree while embracing opportunities to lead, mentor, and make a difference in her community.

Her passion for helping others drew her to physical therapy. “Physical therapy allows me to help individuals get back to doing the activities they love. Seeing others regain a high quality of life is extremely rewarding,” Ally said. She has strengthened this purpose through the Early Assurance program, working closely with faculty to shape her identity as a future professional.

Ally’s engagement on campus has been broad and impactful. As an undergrad, she served as the Walsh University Band’s first drum major and clarinet section leader, mentored students in the Honors Program, led Discipleship groups, and held secretary positions for the Pre-Physical Therapy and Science clubs. She also participated in Cavathon and Campus Ministry events, and contributed to community service projects, including a trip to Steubenville where students assisted families under the guidance of Franciscan sisters.

Reflecting on these experiences, Ally said, “I believe the community service projects I have completed at Walsh have strongly influenced my perspective of the world, mostly by developing gratitude for the gifts I have received. The service trip to Steubenville really opened my eyes to the struggles of others. Some world issues can feel distant and hard to truly imagine happening to us, such as poverty, hunger, or homelessness. However, these issues are present, even in a nearby community. This experience energized my devotion to serving others, and I hope to continue cultivating this virtue.”

Her faith has been a guiding force throughout her Walsh experience. “My first time going to IGNITE on campus truly changed my life. The presence of Christ in the chapel is beautiful. I am so grateful for the accessibility of the sacraments on campus. Spending time in the chapel never failed to bring me a sense of calm during the chaos of the school year and allowed me to take a step back and appreciate the gifts I have received at Walsh,” she said.

Ally also credits Walsh faculty for fostering her growth. “Professor Thomas Roblee creates a welcoming atmosphere and genuinely cares about each student’s experience. I believe his guidance allowed me to develop my role as a leader at Walsh.” Her advice to prospective students reflects the warmth of the Walsh community. She said, “Attend as many events as you can. The community building events that Walsh puts on are some of my fondest memories with my friends and allowed me to develop my identity on campus.”

Ally’s time at Walsh has been a journey of purpose, faith, and growth. “The main motivator in my life is the Lord. I am grateful for the gifts He has given me and want to use these qualities to serve Him and others around me. By being the best version of myself, I am using my life to serve God, which is my ultimate goal.”
