The Communication major is good for creative people with strong writing skills. Communications is a broad field that includes the study of public speaking and rhetoric, communication at a personal level and the mass media such as film, television, and the Internet.
The Communication curriculum at Walsh is a pre-professional program that works to prepare our students to pursue careers in communication professions.
Our program includes a core set of classes that introduce students to communication as a field and a number of elective courses where students can pursue their individual career and academic interests. Communication is a relatively small major in terms of the number of credits; many of our students double major or pursue minors.
Students can seek employment opportunities at newspapers, agencies, non-profit entities and more. Creativity and communication skills also are assets in almost any career.
