Walsh University believes in the value of the degrees our students earn. To take that one step further, we’ve designed the Maroon and Gold Career Promise. This is our commitment to ensure that our students who meet benchmarks will find an entry-level position or higher, be enrolled in graduate school, or gain a service year position within 6 months of graduation.
Our charge is to create a purposeful, values-based, and results-oriented academic and career path for each student resulting in a prosperous and successful life after graduation through:
- Developing skills to adapt to the rapidly changing workforce
- Offering a worldwide network of support for career or graduate school placement
- Participation in distinctive professional development workshops
- One-on-one coaching from alumni and local industry professionals

Maroon and Gold Promise Student Requirements
- Meet with a career advisor in the Office of Alumni and Career Connections to develop employment related skills and successfully complete the Career Roadmap.
- First and second year students will be encouraged to participate in professional development workshops and programs each year in addition to your GE 100 course.
- At least once per year during your third and fourth year, attend an industry-specific networking opportunity, employer visit series, and/or career and internship fairs.
- Complete at least one, 3-credit (135 hour) internship before graduation.
- Remain in good standing* with the university, as outlined in the student handbook.
*Remaining in good standing means adhering to the Walsh University Commitment as outlined in the Student Handbook.
