This applied technology course builds technical proficiency in AI-assisted document processing, structured AI workflow design, and systematic AI initiative evaluation. Participants build hands-on technical skill in extracting and verifying information from source documents using AI tools, mapping AI-assisted workflows with defined inputs, outputs, and human-review checkpoints, and applying structured technical criteria to evaluate AI-driven process improvements.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Use AI to summarize, compare, organize, and extract information from documents and other source material.
  • Verify outputs against original sources and distinguish supported statements from generated interpretations.
  • Map and test repeatable AI-assisted workflows with defined inputs, outputs, human review points, and exception handling.
  • Apply a structured technical framework to document current-state processes, define AI-enabled future state workflows, and specify system and data requirements for implementation.
  • Apply defined technical criteria to evaluate AI initiatives for feasibility, data readiness, and implementation risk, and define a scoped technical pilot.
  • Contribute to a prioritized technical portfolio of approximately 8–10 AI initiatives, each specified with defined inputs, required AI capability, and feasibility assessment, for further technical development.

Course Details

Format: Instructor-led sessions combine short technical explanations, demonstrations, individual practice, small-group collaboration, and discussion. Examples are tailored to the organization while the curriculum remains platform-agnostic.

Certificate: Participants who complete all four modules receive the Walsh University Applied AI: Workflows and Innovation Design Certificate, documenting applied technical proficiency in AI-assisted document processing, workflow design, and structured AI-initiative evaluation.
