When it came time to choose a college, Vince Armao struggled to find a place that felt like home. That is until he stumbled upon Walsh University. From the moment he set foot on campus, something clicked. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly faces made Vince feel like he belonged. It was a feeling he hadn’t experienced anywhere else. As he toured the campus, he knew in his heart that Walsh was where he was meant to be.

At Walsh, Vince discovered more than just a place to earn a degree. He found a community dedicated to service and making a difference in the world. The University’s mission of instilling leadership through service resonated deeply with him, igniting a passion for helping others and making a positive impact.

“The emphasis on service to others has instilled in me a sense of responsibility toward my community and the world at large,” he said. “I have learned the importance of empathy, compassion, and selflessness in making an impact in society. Whether it is through volunteer work or simply being a dependable person to those around me, Walsh’s mission has inspired me to prioritize service as a key component of my life.”

One of the biggest surprises for Vince was the overwhelming support he received from faculty and staff. From day one, they went above and beyond to make him feel valued and supported. Their encouragement and guidance helped Vince navigate his academic journey and to discover his true calling.

“The faculty and staff are like family—always there with a smile, knowing your name, ready to help. It’s this warmth that turns the campus into a second home,” he said.

Initially, Vince had set his sights on a career in nursing but later realized that his true passion was in Exercise Science. Vince was drawn to the intricate workings of the human body and the opportunity to make a difference in the field of orthopedic medicine.

Outside the classroom, Vince thrived as an active member of the Walsh community. From serving in leadership roles in various clubs to participating in fundraising events, he embraced every opportunity to get involved and make a difference. His involvement has included Blouin Scholars, Nursing Club, Campus Ministry, Cavathon Fundraising Chair, Cavs Coalition to combat human trafficking, Maroon and Gold Mentor, Resident Assistant and Student Government Residence Life Commissioner.

As Vince prepares to graduate, he looks toward the future with excitement and determination. Armed with a top-notch education and a wealth of experiences, he’s ready to pursue his dream of becoming an orthopedic medical device sales representative.

“Looking back on my time at Walsh, I am filled with gratitude for the journey I’ve had and the person I’ve become. I am eager for the next adventure, knowing that the lessons and connections from Walsh will always be a part of me.”
